ANIMAL REARING
LIVEKienyeji chicken, sheep, goats and beef cattle on the ground today — raised for meat, documented as modules.
// BUILD — AGRICULTURE
Carcass d'Elegance is an agricultural learning and livestock project at Boondocks Lab.
Right now on the estate: kienyeji chicken, sheep, goats and cows — raised on feed we grow and process ourselves across 10 plantable acres. No picnics yet. No festival grounds yet. Just the animals, the crops, and the school we're building from both.
// THE SIX AREAS
Six areas, plainly labeled. What's live is live; what's planned is planned.
Kienyeji chicken, sheep, goats and beef cattle on the ground today — raised for meat, documented as modules.
10 plantable acres, AI-subdivided into feed-crop sections, harvested and processed on-farm.
The animal-rearing school: five-beat tracks per species, filmed beside the animals, safety module first.
Hoof-to-harvest craft: slaughter, butchery and total use, taught cut by cut. The festival grounds come later.
Nothing wasted: manure feeds the compost loop and Experiment 01's terra preta beds; every loss is autopsied into data.
The pond (tilapia, planned), grazing rotations, feed rations — tested small, published honestly, scaled only if they work.
The animal feeds the estate. The least we owe it is total use and total transparency.
Knife work is geometry. Every cut has a name, a reason, and a right angle.
Every animal we raise is a module. Every mistake is documented. If you follow the track, you can raise them too.
// CURRENT REALITY
the first flock is on the ground. hardy, indigenous, unimpressed by your schedule.
grazing the loop, turning grass into school fees.
the original estate economists. browse everything, cost nothing.
beef on the hoof — and the manure pipeline that feeds Experiment 01's terra preta.
> nothing here is a render. the photos drop as the light cooperates — slots cd-01…04.
// THE FEED LOOP
The plan: maximize the 10 acres we have available for planting. AI helps us subdivide the land into sections, each planted with a different feed crop, rotated and timed so the animals never wait. We harvest it, we process it here on the farm, and the manure goes back into the soil — some of it into the terra preta beds. The loop is the lesson.
Next into the ecosystem: a fish pond. Tilapia in the loop — protein, pond nutrients for the crops, and one more module for the school.
// THE SCHOOL
We follow these modules ourselves as we create the videos — so they're tested on the same ground you'll read them from. Anyone who finishes a track should be able to do it themselves. And because the animals deserve it: every track includes its own safety and welfare short course.
Sourcing hardy kienyeji birds, brooding, and surviving the first 21 days.
Predator-proof housing from estate materials; the feed loop from the crop rows.
The common killers — Newcastle, fowl pox, coccidiosis: signs, prevention, vaccination schedules.
Crop issues, wound care, bumblefoot — what you can safely do yourself, and when to call the vet.
Photograph a loss, let AI picture-identification narrow the cause, confirm against the field guide — every death becomes data.
module zero is non-negotiable. every track starts with working with animals safely — handling without injury (yours or theirs), hygiene and zoonoses, first aid for bites and kicks. the animals deserve it; so do you.
// THE FUTURE — NOT YET
One day: grounds on the estate built for meat festivals — nyama choma as ceremony, the whole craft performed in public. Not yet. First the herd, the feed loop, the school. When the grounds open, the people who followed the tracks get the first invitations.
