PRIVACY POLICY.

You give us directly: your name, your WhatsApp number, your interest selection (Watch Mitatini / Learn Filmmaking / Hire Us / Visit the Farm / Collaborate), and any message you send us on WhatsApp or by email. That is the entire list.

Your browser stores locally: signup records (bl_signups) and Academy module progress (bl_academy_progress). These live in YOUR browser's localStorage, on YOUR device. They never reach our servers — there is nothing to send them to yet — and clearing your browser data deletes them permanently. To clear: your browser's settings → privacy → clear site data for boondockslab.co.ke.

We do not collect: passwords (there are no accounts), payment card data (no payments happen on this site), tracking cookies, analytics profiles, or your location.

Three reasons, and only three: to reply to your message; to send you the thing you asked for — episode alerts (MITATINI), the study group (ACADEMY), quotes and bookings (BOOK), visit arrangements (VISIT); and to improve the estate's work. We don't profile you. We don't have the time. There are goats.

Messages between us travel over WhatsApp (Meta) infrastructure, which means WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies to that pipe. On our side, your keyword routes your interest: ACADEMY, MITATINI, BOOK, VISIT.

When the Lab Brain backend comes online, your signup will be stored in a contacts table with an opted_in_at timestamp — nothing more exotic than that. We will announce it on Build in Public before it ships. If that ever changes this policy, this page changes first.

Nothing is sent to you without explicit consent: every signup form on this site has an opt-in checkbox, and it is unticked by default, always. You tick it or we don't message you. That simple.

Leaving is one word: reply STOP to any message and you are out, instantly — no confirmation screens, no “are you sure?”, no guilt trip. Reply START to rejoin whenever you like. A human confirms every STOP within 24 hours, because the Lab Brain backend is still coming online and humans keep receipts.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with anyone. Not advertisers, not data brokers, not “partners”. The only exception is where Kenyan law compels disclosure — and if that ever happens, it happens through lawyers, not through a marketing dashboard.

We keep your details only as long as you're opted in or actively talking to us. You can request deletion anytime via WhatsApp at +254 747 924 886 or by email at info@boondockslab.co.ke. We confirm deletion within 7 days.

The localStorage data on your device (signup mirror, Academy progress) is deleted by you, in your browser, anytime — clear site data and it is gone for good. We can't delete it for you because we never had it.

No accounts means there is nothing on this site to breach — no password database, no session store, no login system to attack. Messages on the phone side are protected by WhatsApp's encryption in transit. The weakest link is, as always, a human leaving a phone unlocked near a goat. We train for this.

The Academy welcomes young filmmakers — some of our best students are sixteen. But we message adults: a young person joins the study group and receives WhatsApp messages through a parent or guardian's number, not their own. If you're a guardian and want that changed or stopped, one message does it.
